Carnival Event Planning & Safety Guide
A mobile carnival setup must be planned around the venue, equipment, audience, and operating conditions. This guide explains the information event organizers should prepare before requesting rides or games from Carolina Carnival Rides.
1. Confirm Delivery Access
Identify the route from the public road to the setup area. Measure gates and note tight turns, curbs, low branches, overhead lines, soft shoulders, parking decks, security checkpoints, and shared vendor lanes. Keep the delivery route clear until setup is complete.
2. Provide a Suitable Setup Surface
The proposed area should be firm, level, and large enough for the equipment footprint, operating area, queue, and exit. Tell us whether the surface is asphalt, concrete, grass, gravel, or another material. Mark irrigation, drainage, underground utilities, and areas that cannot support equipment.
3. Check Space, Height, and Power
Ride requirements vary. Review the individual ride page for available attraction information, then confirm the exact footprint, clearances, rider requirements, power needs, staffing, and capacity during quoting. Do not estimate overhead clearance from a photo; identify trees, utility lines, signs, building overhangs, and light poles.
4. Protect Guest Flow
Ride queues and exits should remain separate from vehicle lanes, food lines, ticket sales, restrooms, building entrances, and emergency access. A trackless train route should not cross dense pedestrian areas or active ride queues. Leave room for parents, strollers, seating, and guests who are not riding.
5. Plan for Weather
Outdoor operations may be affected by wind, rain, lightning, ground conditions, or other site-specific concerns. Name an on-site decision maker who can be reached during setup and operation. The event should also have a way to communicate schedule changes to guests and vendors.
6. Verify Local and Venue Requirements
The organizer should ask the property owner and appropriate local authorities which permits, inspections, traffic plans, insurance documents, or other approvals may apply. Requirements can differ by location and event. They should be resolved before setup day.
7. Use the Current Inventory
Plan around the attractions shown on the Carnival Rides and Add-Ons & Games pages. Do not advertise an attraction until availability and site suitability are confirmed.
